The Little Nell is at the foot of the gondola, ski-in and ski-out, and opens for the season with the mountain.

The line we searched: British Airways from Heathrow at ten past twelve, Denver by three, then United to Aspen, down after six and already dark. A taxi covers the last four miles.

Fifteen hours and two minutes, door to door, landing the evening before the mountain opens.
